DATA CONCENTRATOR UNIT (DCU)

The Data Concentrator Unit (DCU) is a flexible, powerful, and robust interfacing device designed to accept discrete analog and avionics bus data inputs from aircraft equipment and sensors. The DCU formats the data into engineering units for transmission over MIL-STD-1553, RS-422 and ARINC-429 digital databases. The unit also provides discrete, analog and bus data outputs. All inputs/outputs are user-programmable via a database for 1553 mapping, engineering unit scaling and bit formatting

This compact, lightweight and low-powered unit provides a single, high-density conversion interface to the aircraft’s mission processor. Up to 32 different configurations can be stored in the DCU’s non-volatile memory. Each configuration can be selected by either the mission processor or the configuration straps. The DCU’s modular-designed hardware allows for the tailoring of its configuration by adding or removing input/output modules to satisfy the specific installation’s needs.

Some additional benefits include:

  • Wide variety of fielded platforms
  • High-channel density
  • Obsolescence program
