Newisys Introduces The NDS-1122, 48TB Integrated Storage Server

New Technology Reduces Power Consumption Up to 50% and Uses Intel’s New Atom C2000 Processor

SAN JOSE, Calif., October 17, 2013 – Newisys, a leading provider of data center products for enterprise and cloud applications, today announced availability of the NDS-1122, an advanced 1U integrated storage server with a capacity of 48TB. Developed to provide a cost-effective storage solution for unstructured data at the petabyte scale, the new NDS-1122 is ideally suited for use in Erasure Coded arrays and other large scale-out storage solutions.

“The NDS-1122, 48TB storage server brings Intel’s new Atom C2000 processor to the cloud server market,” said Eugene McCabe, Executive Vice President of Newisys. “By using the Atom C2000 processor, total power consumption of the system has been reduced by 50% with no reduction in performance. This system allows companies to port their existing applications to a much lower power solution without sacrificing performance.” Newisys offers a full range of server and storage products used by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Cloud Data centers, from low cost, low power mass storage to extremely high-performance servers and SSD arrays.

The NDS-1122, 48TB integrated storage server is designed for easy implementation in 1U increments, and offers full enterprise-class management and serviceability. Customers can use SATA hard disk drives because of an innovative drive mounting design that virtually eliminates rotational vibration. Newisys also added disk drive power control to reduce power consumption and overall total cost of ownership. The system offers N+1 cooling and the option for redundant hot-swappable power supplies. It is designed for use in high temperature data centers and has an extremely low temperature rise above ambient. More complete information can be found at: Newisys_1122.pdf
