SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

RESPONSIBLE MINERALS SOURCING POLICY

Responsible Minerals Sourcing Policy

In alignment with the United States requirements under Dodd-Frank and SEC 1502, and the EU Conflict Minerals Regulations, Sanmina is committed to following the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High Risk Areas. To this end, we have adopted practices utilizing tools and resources from  the Responsible Business Alliance’s Responsible Minerals Initiative, including the use of the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT). We work collaboratively with our suppliers to obtain conflict minerals information and to encourage their compliance with global responsible sourcing directives.

  • Our due diligence efforts focus on the following Conflict Minerals:
  • Columbite-tantalite (Coltan), which is refined into tantalum
  • Cassiterite, which is refined into tin
  • Wolframite, which is refined into tungsten
  • Gold

Sanmina collects data from our suppliers using the CMRT, and we conduct due diligence to assess risks based on the results of this data and in alignment with the OECD guidance. Sanmina supports government and industry initiatives to avoid the use of minerals purchased from sources whose revenue is  believed to finance or benefit armed groups who commit human rights abuses globally.

As such, we will take the required steps over time to source from socially responsible suppliers when the choice of supplier is within our control and will encourage customers to do the same.
